HSMC Rainbow Bridge Memorials
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER...
The lost of a beloved fur baby is devastating. Below are some websites that offer understanding, compassion, love, friendship and tears while you go through the grieving process. Many of these sites have weekly candle ceremonies, support chat rooms and places were you can post a memorial of your friend. You are not alone with your grief. There are literally thousands of us who have lost our animal friends and have gone through the grieving process. Some of us continue to grieve years after our lost. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Look for help in the sites mention below and let others help and support you.
HSMC RAINBOW BRIDGE MEMORIALS:
Named after the "Rainbow Bridge" poem (author unknown), this space is provided to memorialize your beloved pet. A $20 donation lets you e-mail your pet's photo, name and short sentiment, to be posted on this page on our website. The proceeds from the memorial will be used solely for the care of the animals at our shelter who are still looking for their forever homes. Doing something positive during this time time of sadness will help with the grieving process and a memorial will not only honor your pet but also help those HSMC animals who are homeless.
Please send check or money order payable to the "Humane Society of Monroe County, P.O. Box 164, Waterloo, Illinois, 62298" or you may pay by using the PayPal button below.
